Sleep is its own cool thing. Consolidation, integration and the slow hum of neurons firing together (and staying together) takes place when we sleep. Repair, neurogenesis... you name it. Sleep is a good thing. New ideas become "our" ideas. Memory seems to strengthen each time we practice something, read something, hear something repeatedly... and then nap.
